Little Mommy

Chucky is 2 years 1month already, I realized I no longer track what she is up to and I am enjoying this phase. The first year was most tough where we weren’t confident on our parenting skills also a period where everyone’s focus is on you and the baby. Well second year is when we realized that the parenting isn’t that tough also the year where we mastered the carefree parenting art. I don’t care if Chucky skips a meal, well I can’t say I don’t care but at least I don’t stop myself from eating. She is a happy child most of the time with occasional fuss. When I look back she never gave us any trouble except on the food aspect. I have so many things that I want to write about her/us but sometimes you are so busy living your life, you find it tough to note them down. But I have to write this. This morning I heard this conversation between Chucky and her dad.

R: Come lets brush
Chucky: No brushing daddy.
R: Why not, come on you are big girl
Chucky: No I am not big girl.
R: so you want to be a small girl?
Chucky: No small girl
R: Then big girl?
Chucky: No big girl, I want to be Mummy

I can’t explain how happy and proud I felt, my baby is growing and she wants to be like mommy. So the question comes where and when we learn how to be a mom, well I think we learn as young as a year or two and from then we are preparing our self to be mommies. I am surprised that she notices even the minute stuff I do for her unintentionally. She has few baby dolls which she thinks she is mothering. One day one she was playing with her baby in the car seat and the baby fell down. Her emotions were changed and we heard a long speech to the baby asking if she was hurt and consoling the baby. We were so amazed the way she spoke to the baby. She behaved and sounded just like any other mother. It is amazing to know while you are busy learning the parenting through your child; she is also learning and practicing to be a mommy some day.
